Honoring Luis Perez: A Farewell with Love

My heart is shattered as I share the sudden and heartbreaking loss of my father, Luis Perez. On Tuesday, February 18th, what started as a normal, happy day ended in unimaginable tragedy. He came home after spending a joyful day at work with his coworkers, full of life and laughter. But then, out of nowhere, he said he wasn’t feeling well—his lungs were bothering him. He lay down to rest, expecting just a short nap, only to slip away in his sleep from a heart attack, right beside the love of his life.

My name is Marlene Perez, and with every piece of my broken heart, I ask for your help in giving my dad the funeral he so deeply deserves. He was everything to me—the most loving father, an incredible partner, and a friend to everyone who knew him. He never carried anger in his heart, only kindness and humor. He filled every moment with warmth, gratitude, and love, always making those around him smile.

My mother and I are devastated beyond words. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us as we try to honor his memory the way he would have wanted. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
