On behalf of my mom, here are her words in honor of my uncle.

My brother Luis made it to 70. Against all odds, being born with cerebral palsy, he outlived our mom and his younger brother. First braces, then crutches, then a wheelchair. Because of that, he had tremendous strength in his arms. He loved going to Target and the barbershop. He never missed The Price is Right and he played oldies on his stereo. He could have a conversation with anyone, but when he was tired of talking, he would let you know. Politely, he would say “OK”.

“OK” God decided a few days ago that his body needed to rest and go be with our mom and to make sure our brother is behaving. I’m gonna miss you calling me on my birthday and always asking “how’s the weather?” Rest in Peace, Brother.

Our family is trying to give Luis a meaningful burial and honor his memory. The funds raised will help cover funeral services and related expenses. Any support would mean so much to us as we celebrate Luis’s life and say goodbye.

Thank you for helping my mom, and my family by giving my uncle the memorial he deserves.
