Help Me Honor My Mother, Lourdes M. Centeno
Today, I lost my mother — my heart, my strength, my safe place.
Lourdes M. Centeno left this world at the age of 68, far too soon and without warning. She had the blessing of seeing her grandchildren grow into their teenage years, yet we were not given the chance to say goodbye. That absence is a pain words can barely hold.
My mother was an extraordinary woman. Strong, intelligent, and endlessly selfless, she raised me as a single mother and worked tirelessly to give me a better life. Every sacrifice she made was rooted in love. She taught me resilience, integrity, and how to keep going even when life is heavy. Everything I am exists because of her.
I now face this loss without family to rely on — carrying my grief alone while trying to do right by the woman who gave me everything. My deepest wish is to honor her with a beautiful, meaningful farewell through a dignified funeral and cremation. I want to place her in a beautiful urn and keep her close to our hearts, where she will forever remain with me and her grandchildren.
This is not easy to ask. I believe God places people in our lives for a reason, and I trust that even in this pain, He is walking with us. Any donation, prayer, or share is a blessing. Every act of kindness helps me honor my mother with the love, respect, and peace she deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story, for holding my family in your prayers, and for helping me carry her memory forward.
With love, faith, and gratitude,
Pamela-Ann
