Honoring Lordrick Ly and Standing Against Cancer

Hi everyone, my name is Kat and I am a close friend of Catherine and the Ngo family. I have known Catherine since college, and her family is close to my heart.

 

As many of you already know, Catherine’s father Lordrick Ly was diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma) in October 2021. The cancer quickly spread to his liver and other parts of his body. In the months that followed, Mr. Ly bravely fought for his life as he was transferred in and out of the hospital and ER for multiple rounds of testing, chemotherapy treatment, and palliative care. Tragically, Mr. Ly’s battle with cancer ended last week when he passed peacefully on April 29, 2022 at 2:02 am.

 

In the days since, many of you have reached out to Catherine kindly offering flowers and gifts and asking what you can do for her and her family in the wake of her father’s passing. Catherine has given me permission to set up this GoFundMe page. Funds will be used toward helping the family with memorial service expenses, and will be donated (in Lordrick Ly’s name) to charities focused on cancer prevention and research (such as the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation).

Please know that Catherine was hesitant to share this GoFundMe page as she did not want anyone to feel obligated to donate, but I convinced her that many, if not all, of us would want to show our support in a way that is not only useful, but also honors the memory of her father and all people who struggled/struggle with cancer.
