London came to Moose Lodge Senior Pet Sanctuary as a hospice dog after being rescued from the Manhattan Animal Care Center, where she was at risk of euthanasia. Though her time with us was short, she was surrounded by love, comfort, and daily snuggles. London was a gentle soul who, despite her age and declining health, found joy in every cuddle and moment of kindness. She passed peacefully in one of our care takers arms earlier this week, but her memory will live on with us, and we hope her story makes an impact for every senior dog who needs a home, and/or has been abandoned through no fault of their own.
We are a small hospice and sanctuary nonprofit located in Albany, NY. We currently care for 21 senior dogs, many of whom arrive with unknown medical histories, chronic conditions, or signs of age-related decline. The funds raised through London’s fundraiser will go directly toward essential medical, preventative, and end-of-life care for these dogs. This includes wellness exams, bloodwork, ongoing monitoring, medication support, and comfort-focused care. A portion of these funds will also help cover London’s end-of-life care, ensuring she was surrounded by comfort, dignity, and love when she needed it most.
Providing seniors with a peaceful, pain-free goodbye is one of the hardest but most important responsibilities we take on. Senior dogs can’t always tell us when something is wrong, so this type of care allows us to respond with clarity and give each dog the best possible support through every stage of aging. London’s fundraiser honors the love, gentleness, and impact she had on everyone who knew her. Every donation, share, and kind word helps ensure that dogs like London receive not only medical care, but also comfort, dignity, and a safe forever home in their final chapters. We are deeply grateful to everyone who chooses to be part of this mission.
