My name is Lucas, and I am reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life. Recently, my father, Lloyd, took his own life, leaving the world a little less bright. He leaves behind a son, three dogs, and a village of people who love and cherish him.

This has been and will continue to be one of the most devastating events in my life and for many who knew him.

As his only son, it has left me with the responsibility of handling his affairs. Along with the heartbreak of his loss, I am now facing the challenge of caring for his three beloved dogs and managing a mountain of debt he left behind while trying to keep my childhood home that he lived in.

Lloyd was someone loved by many; even strangers were impacted by meeting him. He was a person of such depth and creativity, always willing to talk to anyone about anything and taking time out of his day to help those in need—never asking for anything in return. My father faced many afflictions throughout his life, but his greatest purpose, which he spoke about any chance he could, was being a father. When Lloyd became a father, his world changed. He was the most devoted father anyone could ever ask for. He was my rock. I am the man I am today in part because of him. He was also a loving and devoted pet parent to three dogs who loved him dearly.

The financial burden includes funeral expenses, court and processing fees, payments for his debts owed, mortgage payments needed to keep my childhood home, and the ongoing care of his pets. I am also hoping to digitize and memorialize his artwork, preserving his legacy for years to come. Every contribution will help me cover these urgent costs, including paying off his debts, and ensure that my father's memory is honored in the way he deserves.

My father did not have assets outside of his home, and my only goal is to make sure I can keep the house and his dogs without losing it to the debt that had accumulated. He was not working for the majority of 2025 due to mental health and other health issues and had no assets to cover the costs of these expenses. My father and I have never been people to ask for monetary assistance, and it is uncomfortable doing so now. However, in times like these, we must put our pride aside for the greater good, and if it will help to keep the home and his dogs in that home, then that is why I am writing this today.
