Driftwood Monumental Memorial
Donation protected

Most of us have lost a family member or friend when it was too early for them to leave us. We've lost some to disease, others to crime, others to natural disasters like fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes; we have lost them also to wars, to accidents. We have a photo of them in our homes and see them daily with love and longing.
We have memorials for them in cemeteries or, in the case of veterans, for example, local and federal memorials like the Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington, DC.
I am raising funds to erect an indoor memorial to all who died before their time. And while doing so, illustrate in a somber manner the tragedy that this represents.
The found materials in my current sculptures emphasize impermanence and vulnerability.
The project is in its first stages. Space, architectural support, labor support, equipment support, studio space, as well as some materials.
My sketches were approved and the first phase of the 30’x50’x12’ sculptural group has now begun.
Your donation will ensure that the work continues for two years until completion. It will cover the purchase of woodworking power tools and shop equipment and will provide support for commuting expenses.
Your help will alleviate the work/money pressure on this artist and secure his total focus on the art for the long haul.
GoFundMe asked that I mention in my story that no raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made to my GoFundMe.
