I started this fundraiser after losing my son, Christopher Guardado Jr, known to everyone as Little Chris. He was only 16 years old, and he fought a lifelong battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy with more courage, joy, and grace than most adults ever show. His passing came suddenly and left our family devastated. In the middle of deep grief, we were faced with overwhelming funeral, memorial, and medical-related expenses from his final days of care.

More than anything, I want to honor Little Chris in a way that reflects who he truly was, a boy who chose joy even when life was unfair, who made people smile even when he was in pain, and who taught everyone around him what unconditional love looks like. This fundraiser is not just about financial help. It’s about giving our family the space to grieve without the added burden of immediate costs, and about creating a way for people who loved Little Chris, or were inspired by his story, to help us celebrate his life and legacy.
