Please help us celebrate the lives of Lisa and Sam Mallory. Lisa, my loving mother-in-law, had been sick with stage 4 non- alcoholic liver cirrhosis for the past few years. My courageous father-in-law, Sam, who was disabled, took care of her entirely over the past year as her disease progressed. Lisa did not want to be in a skilled nursing facility, so her care became much more difficult, but Sam continued to care for her despite the physical and mental toll it took on him.

When Lisa was admitted to the hospital for the final time, Sam suddenly became very sick with a fungal infection in his lungs. It turned out he had been ignoring his own symptoms for quite a while, and by the time he was diagnosed, the infection had done so much damage to his lungs that he had almost no chance of recovery. Sam bravely passed away on January 30th, and Lisa followed him just a few hours later that evening. Though they faced two different illnesses at two different times, they left this world together—Sam going first to hold the door open for Lisa.

We would like help celebrating their lives and putting them to rest the way they deserved. Lisa and Sam both gave so much of themselves in life to help everyone around them, and we want to take care of them the same way they took care of us.
