On behalf of the family and clan of Lincoln Bean Sr., Tléinax̲ Gaax̲, which translates to "a wolf crying by himself” of the Tsaagweidi Clan from the Aan Yakaawlitséxi Hít, the House that Anchors the Village, we want to let all the loved ones from across the country know that his work here is done, his Ancestors have called him home. We will keep folks updated in the days to come on plans for services to honor his life. For the time being, please keep his family, clan, and beloved community of Ḵéex̱’ Ḵwáan in your prayers. His sister Debbie also needs special prayers right now too please.
Funds will be used to help the family during this time of loss and will be used for funeral, travel, memorial, and other costs. Your support will help ease the burden and allow the family to focus on honoring Lincoln’s life and legacy.
Lincoln advocated locally, statewide, and nationally for tribal sovereignty, our inherent rights to live our ways of life, and tribal governance over our healthcare system. He fought with dignity, kindness, firmness, humor, and culture. He held other leaders to the promise of better healthcare for Alaskans. We may never know all of the impacts he made, but if you go to a clinic or a tribal health provider, chances are he was part of making it happen in some way and was perpetually trying to make it better, even from his own hospital bed. Please consider supporting this fundraiser to help his family and community during this time.
