On February 10th, 2026, my two dear friends Zac and Lauren delivered their stillborn daughter, Lenore Celeste Crisafulli, at only 20 weeks gestation.
A normal day at home became a medical emergency in mere moments. Contractions were quickly accompanied by hemorrhaging, without any prior knowledge of a pregnancy. With the reassurance of an IUD in the back of their minds, being “in labor” seemed out of the question. Despite the odds, it was in fact labor—such a whirlwind labor that Lenore arrived before the ambulance was even dispatched.
Emergency surgery and blood transfusions managed to stabilize Lauren over the following days. The grace with which the nursing staff balanced both Lauren’s and Lenore’s care and dignity was truly remarkable. In that sacred time, they were able to hold her, capture priceless photos, and memorize her delicate features. Those moments—though painfully brief—are treasures they will carry for a lifetime.
While she may have come into the world soundly sleeping, Lenore could not have been more loved and wanted. No father should be forced to carry their own child out of the maternity ward in a body bag instead of a car seat. No mother should have to leave with both an empty womb and empty arms. Their other children shouldn’t have to experience such grief so young.
Now home, Lauren and Zac are facing the unimaginable reality of grieving their daughter while navigating the physical recovery from emergency surgery. The emotional toll of this loss is profound. The financial strain is immediate and overwhelming. Everyday costs have not paused for grief. This was already a financially challenging season for them—and now, the weight feels unbearable.
This fundraiser’s goal is to provide respite, as well as physical and emotional healing at an already financially devastating time. As anyone close to them knows well, they entirely lack family support. It is my prayer that the community can help me help them.
Your donation will go directly toward:
- Covering hospital and surgical medical bills
- Costs associated with laying Lenore to rest
- Transportation and follow-up care expenses
- Allowing Lauren and Zac the time off and security they need to heal physically and psychologically.
No parent should have to choose between healing and paying bills. No family navigating loss should feel alone.
If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this campaign and keeping Lauren, Zac, and sweet Lenore Celeste in your thoughts and prayers. Every share, every message, and every act of kindness makes a difference.
Let’s surround this family with the love, dignity, and support they deserve. Let’s help them honor Lenore’s memory by lifting the weight from their shoulders so they can focus on healing.
From the depths of their hearts, thank you for your compassion, generosity, and care.
