Honoring Leighton Marie Updike, daughter of Zak and Callina

“Our sweet Leighton Marie arrived on May 1, 2025 at 8 pounds, 5 ounces and 21.6 inches long.

This morning(5/9/25) we said goodbye to our sweet girl. Our world was completly turned upside down four weeks ago when we found out our little girl was going to be born with a serious heart defect. She came out fighting, but ultimately her little heart was just too impared.

We have spent the last week soaking up every moment we could with our little Leighton, and were lucky enough to bring her home where got an extra, perfect 10 hours with her. Her time with us was short, but she was shown nothing but pure love. She was dedicated to the Lord, her big sister held her hand so much, we read books, and she got so, so many cuddles and kisses.

While our hearts are breaking and wondering why this had to happen to our little girl, we are thankful for the time we got to spend getting to know and love her. Now we have special memories and pictures to hold on to, and another special angel up above that gets to watch over us everyday. ❤️”
