Hello, my name is Kayla, and I’m raising funds on behalf of my big sister, Kristen.

Kristen is the most loving and generous woman and she just celebrated her 33rd birthday. Kristen's proudest accomplishment though, is being a mom to her two beautiful children, Reise (14) and Rylie (12).

On Sunday morning, Kristen was hospitalized due to cardiac arrest. We have waited anxiously to learn the extent of her injuries. Kristen has endured so much over the last few years and she fought as hard as she could. It shatters our hearts to share that she isn’t able to make it back to us.

At this moment, Kristen is still with us. As family comes in to say goodbye, we appreciate all of your love, support, kind words, prayers, and positive vibes. If you knew Kristen at all, you knew she had nothing but love for everyone around her.

We are still in shock, as there is a lot to process. Kristen has been working hard towards recovering from a series of medical events that occurred in 2021. She has made incredible progress towards becoming a kidney transplant recipient, and also re-learned how to walk, twice! Her strength was incredible.

Before Kristen’s health issues intensified, she was also a care-giver - she was heart broken when she had to stop working. It was always her goal to return to work after she was healthy enough. Unfortunately this didn’t happen and financially things are strained.

The funds raised will go toward Kristen’s afterlife expenses and celebration of life. We plan to hold services (details TBD) to celebrate the beautiful mother, sister, daughter, caregiver, and friend she has been to so many.

Anything raised beyond those expenses will go directly to her children. As their aunt, I will be opening a long-term savings account so those funds can grow and be used for important future milestones—such as college or other meaningful life events.
