With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved Kimberly Deshawn Nelson, is not expected to be with us after a matter of days. She ultimately lost her battle with breast and brain cancer after fighting with incredible strength and resilience for over six years. Through every challenge, she remained a warrior—never letting her struggles define her, always putting her family and others before herself.

A proud Navy veteran, she served her country for ten years before building a career in IT at Walter Reed. Later, her compassionate nature led her to in-home healthcare, where she devoted herself to caring for her handicapped son while also raising her two other sons as a single mother. Her love knew no bounds, and her selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Beyond her dedication to family and service, she was full of life and joy. She had a deep love for music—Prince was her all-time favorite artist—and her passion for the color purple earned her the beloved nickname "The Purple Princess." Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time when she found the most happiness in giving to others, a reflection of her generous heart.
