On February 24th at 11:33pm, my mother passed away.
Kim Harrison was a joyous person who always wanted to make everyone in the room laugh and feel good, no matter what kind of situation she was in. She was silly and quirky, and loved by many.
After facing a stroke in October 2024, she was admitted to a rehab facility in Beaumont, TX. Over the holidays, it was mine and my family's goal to move her closer to me and her mom in Fort Worth, TX. We worked diligently to have her transferred to a long-term facility in Burleson, TX. However, her stay was unexpectedly cut short after being sent to the ER for a severe case of aspiration pneumonia. There was no other choice but for her to be admitted to Hospice.
For the last 24 hours of her life, she was with family and made as comfortable as possible. We took care of her, told her we loved her, and held her hand until she passed beautifully and peacefully with us by her side.
My mom will be missed dearly, and for her celebration of life we're looking to uplift the spirits of those who knew her by getting together and celebrating her in ways she'd find most fun.
With that being said, we're looking to raise funds for her celebration, as well as for any upcoming burial and reservation costs. We appreciate anything that is donated, and thank all who took the time to know my mom.
Thank you,
Desi Harrison
