I am heartbroken to even be sitting here writing this. I am in shock, and I still don’t believe this. My 29-year-old sister unexpectedly just passed away. Our family is heartbroken and left to figure out how to bury her.
My sister lived a very unconventional lifestyle, despite having solid family support. Various family members, including uncles, cousins, and siblings, have loved and cared for Kianna throughout the years of her unconventional living. She was so silly when she was mentally well.
My dad adored her—not just with his words, but with his willingness to help improve her life in any way possible. He would literally drive to wherever she was to bring her food and just spend time with her, lol, taking selfies that I’m sure are still saved in my phone.
I cannot believe God called her name so early. She was 29 years old, never married… and I don’t believe she ever got to experience the true freedom Jesus laid down His life to give her. She was plagued with mental illness.
My sister was kind and funny. She literally looked just like me—my twin with a different skin complexion. Literally the same high cheekbones, the same almond-shaped eyes.
I remember fragments of the last conversation I had with my sister not long ago. She let me pray for her, and that, to me, was important.
Kianna was so seen and loved, and I don’t believe she accepted how deeply loved she was. If Kianna had anything, she had passion. She was very vocal, and she stood up when she believed she or the ones she loved were being mistreated.
Kianna leaves behind a son, who she let me name and who I love very much, and three daughters—a set of twins and a single daughter.
Kianna, you were always seen. Always loved. Always prayed for. I can’t believe you’re gone. It was way too soon.
I love you… We love you.
Always and forever. Always and forever.
Please, whatever you can donate to help my family during this time would be helpful.
