Ketny Jean-Francois was a dear friend of so many of us, a warrior for justice, and a mother like no other! Ketny passed away suddenly on Saturday evening. She leaves behind her 23-year-old son, Alex, and a large community of friends who grieve her loss.

Please help us raise funds to send her off with the tribute she deserves, to honor her memory through the ritual of celebrating her life, and to provide her son Alex with some support during this time of transition.

Ketny was a member, leader, and former Board Member of Community Voices Heard and CVH Power, which she helped build and nurture. She came into the organization as an active fighter in the organization's Welfare & Workforce Campaign, then put some of her energy into the Public Housing Campaign, then helped the organization build political power, and the list goes on.

There was not a campaign that she didn't invest herself in; not a fight she stepped back from. And she gave all the fights — and all the people in them — her utmost support and light. She always fought for what was right, with love, conviction, and a wonderful sense of humor.

May she rest in power, and may we all follow in her legacy.
