Honoring Kenny: Memorial and Family Support Fund

For those of you I haven’t had the chance to meet, I am Connie and I was Kenny’s other half for nearly 24 years.

On Tuesday April 7th @ 2:28 pm Kenny left his body to be in the presence of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8)

While my heart is completely broken and the pain of his physical absence is overwhelming, I find my strength in the promises of the Bible.

Before he passed, Kenny asked God for forgiveness of his sins and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Knowing that he is now free from all pain, I have peace and joy in my heart, even through my tears.

Throughout Kenny’s battle with cancer, that strength was supported by a dedicated community. I want to acknowledge and thank all the doctors and medical staff who cared for Kenny to the best of their ability.

His daughters were his rock. Anneliesa was a constant spiritual guide, along with her husband, Richard who visited faithfully to pray over him.

Gina’s love for her father was absolute; to her, he could do no wrong, and she stood by him through everything over the years, even covering the costs of his cremation.

Also one of his sons, Stephen, when he wasn’t on the road for work, would come to the house to take his dad to the store and also visited him in the hospital.

I also want to recognize his longtime friend, Oscar. Though they had lost contact over the years, they were reunited some years ago. Oscar’s friendship was a true blessing—from providing Kenny with side jobs at his and his daughter’s homes to keep him active, to bringing over fresh fruits and vegetables and even buying him a juicer to support his health.

I want to share a side of Kenny that most people probably didn’t know about him.
Behind his rugged exterior and the legend of his strength, there was a profoundly sensitive man. He had the power to take men down with one blow, and has, but he was equally capable of being overwhelmed by emotion over a simple song or a quiet moment of gratitude.

In the end, his true strength wasn't only in his hands, but in the softness of his heart."

While the immediate costs of his cremation and service are covered, I am starting this GoFundMe to help ease the remaining financial burdens.

My goals are to:

Reimburse his daughters for the generous gift of his final arrangements - and -
.
Cover lost wages, for myself, and essential living expenses while I take the necessary time to heal.

Since the loss of my daughter, Angelica on September 3, 2023, I’ve kept away from social media almost entirely so I am incredibly grateful to anyone who feels led to make a contribution.

Thank you for your prayers, your love, and for standing with me as I lean on the Lord during this time.

A Memorial will be held:
