Honoring Kenneth Greenlaw's Legacy Fund

 

 

 

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kenneth A. Greenlaw, Jr., a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He left us unexpectedly while sleeping peacefully at his residence Thursday afternoon.

 

While in high school at Metro - Chicago Public School for Metropolitan Studies, he met the love of his life, Coretta Barber, when he was a sophomore. Kenneth was an athlete during that time, and Coretta was a “Pom-Pom” girl. Once meeting, they were inseparable, even when Coretta moved to Jackson, Mississippi. After graduating from Culver-Stockton College with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, they settled down in Chicago and married in 1992.

 

After establishing their careers in public service, Kenneth and Coretta soon welcomed a son, Kenneth A. Greenlaw, III, in 1994 and a daughter, Kristina, in 2000.

 

Kenneth was a member of Phi Beta Sigma, Inc., Prince Hall Freemasonry, and Shriners International.

 

With all of the emotional pain and stress that the unexpected death of a loved one brings, it also brings a multitude of burdens. So we are creating a way for those who love the Greenlaw family can help and support, Coretta, Kenneth III, and Kristina.

 

In these times of loss and sadness, you see people coming together to help one another make it through, to support the people we love. We are thankful for any support you may be able to provide the Greenlaw's with this sudden loss of a husband and father.

 

Kenneth's love of life did not end with his death. His legacy will live on forever through all that were blessed to have known him. His dedication, attitude and bright smile will be missed by all. We love you, Kenneth!
