Help Kelly Sparks’ Family with Expenses After Her Passing

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved friend, Latin dance teacher, and devoted mother Kelly Sparks, who died on Monday, July 21, at just 39 years old. Kelly was surrounded by her loving family as she took her final breath after a fierce and courageous battle with cancer, strokes, and heart surgery.

Kelly gave so much to her communities — as a passionate teacher, vibrant performer, loyal friend, and above all, as the fiercely loving mother of her two beautiful daughters, Nora and Luna. She met every challenge in her life with grace, resilience, and an open heart. Even in her final days, she remained strong in spirit and surrounded by love.

Why We’re Asking for Help

Many of you generously supported Kelly during her medical crises in the past few months, helping her through the financial burdens of stroke recovery and a devastating cancer diagnosis. Thanks to your donations, Kelly was able to focus on treatment and spend precious time with Nora and Luna. We are forever grateful for that.

Now, in the wake of her passing, her family is facing a new wave of expenses — the often overwhelming and immediate costs that arise after a loved one dies. These include:

• Transportation and preparation of Kelly’s body

• Cremation or burial costs

• A memorial or celebration of life

• Funeral home and related services

• Legal and administrative fees related to her estate

• Travel and lodging for out-of-town family members

While earlier GoFundMe donations were a lifeline during Kelly’s final months, those funds are now part of her estate and cannot be accessed quickly due to the required legal process of probate. Eventually, those funds will pass to her daughters — as Kelly would have wanted — but this process takes time and cannot address the urgent costs her family faces now.
