I’m writing this on behalf of my husband, Kevin, and sister-in-law, Lindsey.

On Monday, October 6th after being awakened by the police department knocking on our door at 10:30pm, we were informed that our brother had died unexpectedly in his home, despite his roommate/dear friend’s efforts to resuscitate him.

Kelly James Brackin served our country in Afghanistan for 2 years and I am told, never left home without his dog tags— an achievement he was so proud of. He had a passion for playing video games, collecting Magic cards, and loved making people smile. Kevin and Lindsey find some comfort in knowing Kelly is now with both of his parents, watching over us all.

No one plans for this type of thing & Kelly was 42 years young when he left the world so now Kevin and Lindsey are left to navigate the unexpected loss as well as finances that come along with a proper service and burial. The VA is able to provide some assistance, as well as a final salute for our Veteran but any other help is greatly appreciated!
