Honoring Keith Belton (1963 - 2022)
Donation protected
Hello Friends,
It’s with a very heavy heart that we are devastated to share that our beloved friend, Keith Belton, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 11, 2022.
All of us who had the privilege of having Keith in our life know that his story was a remarkable tale of transformation. Keith had to grow up way too quickly in a world of poverty, violence, homelessness, crime, addiction and incarceration. As one of our friends remarked, if they make Keith's life into a movie, they will have to leave parts out to make it believable. To many of us, Keith's life could be viewed as tragic, but Keith always said, "It is what it is."
Far from tragic, Keith used what he called his "lived experience" as a springboard to not only change the trajectory of his own life, but to give back tirelessly to transform the lives of others. The list of organizations to which Keith dedicated his life is long, including Night Ministries, Heartland Alliance, Alcoholics Anonymous and Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.
The list of people that he dedicated his life to helping is much, much longer.
Now it's our turn to help. We are seeking to raise funds to help Keith's family with funeral and memorial expenses.
This world has lost one of its most inspiring members, but through us, his example can live on.
Thank you for honoring Keith with your love and support,
Friends of Keith
