In Memory of Katrina (Torres) Wheeler

Yesterday, our family’s lives changed forever.

Katrina Wheeler was tragically taken from us after being shot while putting groceries into the trunk of her vehicle in a Walmart parking lot. During the incident, her brother, Pito, was also shot by the man responsible—Katrina’s soon-to-be ex-husband.

Katrina leaves behind five beautiful children, ranging in age from 5 to 15 years old, who are now facing life without their mother. She is survived by her mother, Louisa Mendez; her father, Guadalupe Torres; and her brothers, Rocky, Kenneth, Guadalupe Jr., and Jason. She is now reunited in Heaven with her brother, Randy Medina.

As our family begins to navigate this unimaginable tragedy, we are facing not only overwhelming grief but also the financial burdens that come with laying Katrina to rest and helping provide care, stability, and support for her children. Family members are stepping in to help meet the children's immediate and future needs during this incredibly difficult time.
