Bonnie and Katie's love was cosmic. Something everyone who knew them saw and admired, as much as they admired the essential work they did for their community.

As they both fought to keep Katie alive, some necessities of life were set aside. Now, after Katie's tragic loss, Bonnie is left in their home. We want to make sure she can keep it so she can preserve their legacy in the same house where their love lived, day in and day out.

Bonnie asked to add this to our efforts, so everyone knows what this means for her. Here are her words:

"Two weeks ago today in the very early morning hours, My Love left this world in my arms and in my eyes. It was so incredibly unexpected and sudden, and I am shattered. Katie Meyer is my soul's mate. Our love is magic. We knew from the moment our eyes met that we were written in the stars. The only thing getting me through at the moment are those closest to us who are holding me up and the deep, lasting love that K poured into me for nearly 15 years.

But now, as is the case when someone is diagnosed with something so aggressive and hard as colorectal cancer, we find ourselves in the aftermath of what it looks like to give everything you have for 22 months to beat something that ripped her away. Nothing prepares you for juggling all that is left behind. That her disability claims have STILL not processed; she is still to be paid for benefits that were in place to support her should she need them. We're so uncertain about all of the safety nets, all of the systems you put in place to support those you love, and how easily they can unravel.

And I am shattered. Katie and I never spent more than a few nights apart. That was only during the years she was consulting, so long ago. Tonight I will spend my 15th night without her.

We need to figure out how to move forward with so much uncertainty while navigating the most difficult circumstances. Anything donated will help me, and our kids and grandbaby, as we figure out how to stand without her.

And I rearrange my life's purpose to fulfill living out her legacy."
