Kathleen Hovey was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many as a loving mom, grandma, sister, friend, teacher, principal, wife, and human. Born in 1943 in Illinois, she spent 82 years spreading kindness, wisdom, and faith to everyone she met. She was married to her devoted husband for 57 years, and together they built a family rooted in love and tradition. On December 10th, Kathleen passed away peacefully in the hospital, surrounded by those who loved her most. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith were a source of strength for her family and community. As a proud member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Kathleen found comfort in her faith, and it brings us peace to know she fell asleep with the Lord, just as she wished. We are grateful for the many memories and lessons she shared with us all. As we prepare to honor her life, we are facing the significant costs of her funeral, including the casket, services at the funeral home, and her burial. We want to give Kathleen the beautiful farewell she deserves, but we cannot do it alone.
