On December 13th, my world was shattered when my beloved son Kalend was taken from me in a senseless act of violence. I am so sad that we can’t see his big pretty smile anymore, hear his voice, or smell his scent. We’re so devastated—words can’t explain the pain we feel. He was the light of our lives, known to us as Bubbah or Kennkenn, and his absence has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. Every day since, I have been trying to find the strength to honor his memory and give him the homegoing he deserves.

As I face the unimaginable task of planning his homegoing, I am reaching out for help. The costs of funeral expenses, decorations, food, clothing, and everything needed to celebrate his life are overwhelming. I want to make sure that we can come together as a family and community to remember him in the most loving way possible, but I cannot do this alone.
