I’m raising funds through this GoFundMe to cover the $22,000 cost of a dignified funeral for my beloved brother Kahseem, who tragically passed away far too soon, leaving our family heartbroken and in need of support during this difficult time. The bulk of the money, approximately $8,000, will go toward purchasing a quality casket and embalming services to ensure he is laid to rest with the respect he deserves. Another $5,000 will be allocated to securing a burial plot at our local cemetery and covering the associated fees for opening and closing the grave. We’ll use about $3,000 for the funeral service itself, including venue rental at a chapel, a minister or officiant to lead the ceremony, and basic audio-visual equipment for sharing memories through photos and videos. Flowers, decorations, and printed programs will account for around $1,500 to create a beautiful and comforting atmosphere for family and friends to gather and celebrate his life. Transportation costs, such as hearse rental and family limousines, will take up $2,000 to facilitate the procession smoothly. Finally, the remaining $2,500 will be dedicated to a headstone engraving with his name, dates, and a heartfelt message, as well as any unexpected administrative fees or permits required by the funeral home.
