Justin Ouimet was a force of nature and his spirit is deeply missed. He was the kind of guy who lived to ride the pacific coast waves, love for eclectic music, indulged any adventure in nature or took time to have a beer with his friends. Ouimet lived loudly, freely, and brought joy to anyone of us lucky to be in his orbit. Join us as we create a space to showcase that spirit where we can come together to honor his legacy in the form of a mural.
We are raising money to commission a mural at Play (a local taphouse in Eugene) on an outside wall owned by Justin’s friends Holly and Andrew, which is ‘a temple of amusement for the young at heart.’ The location couldn’t be more fitting for a guy who loved to play! Local muralist, Ila Rose( below are examples of her other murals) will visualize his love of surfing, music, joy, and play with a multimedia mural. Also, will be painting and then installing vinyl collage of pictures on hood of Justin’s truck(Ouimet mobile) (see pic below)
The donations will go directly towards:
1. Muralist fees and materials
2.Painting and making vinyl collage and installing it
We want this mural to represent in color his spirit and the impact he left on us. Our goal is for this space to honor everything Ouimet loved, a place to gather to celebrate his life, and to be nestled in our community to inspire generations to come.
