Hi, my name is Kareem O’Brian, and I’m a film student at Brooklyn College in the process of producing my senior thesis film. My project is inspired by the life and legacy of Lesandro (Junior) Guzman-Feliz, a 15-year-old kid from the Bronx whose story touched so many hearts. In 2018, Junior’s life was tragically cut short, leaving a deep impact on his family, friends, and the entire community. I was the same age as Junior when this happened, and his story deeply affected how I view the world. With this film, I want to honor his memory by sharing not only the pain of his loss but also the joy and love that surrounded him every day. The story will highlight Junior’s friendships, his vibrant personality, and the special moments that made him who he was. By focusing on both the heartbreak and the hope, I hope to create a film that resonates with anyone who has ever loved and lost, and to shine a light on the strength of community in the face of tragedy.
To bring this film to life, we're asking for $5,000. This will go towards production costs, equipment, and securing the right locations to tell Junior’s story authentically. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ensure that this important story and memoriam can be told. Any money left over will be donated to a charity of Junior's family choosing.
If you can't contribute please share with your family and friends and with anyone who believes Junior's story should be told.
