Cast a Line of Hope – Supporting Nanette After Junebug’s Final Voyage
Nanette, who has always been like family to us is now facing unimaginable loss after the passing of her beloved husband, Junebug, due to complicated medical issues. Nannette is now left with not only the emotional burden of losing her best friend and the love of her life, but also the weight of medical bills, funeral costs, and the day-to-day expenses of starting over alone.
Junebug was a well-known and deeply loved member of the community — born and raised in Manatee County. He grew up on the Mum Farm on Cortez and later made his home in Piney Point. He loved to fish, cook what he caught, take care of his dogs, and attend church. Junebug had a heart of gold and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Last year, Junebug and Nanette lost their home during Hurricane Milton. Despite the devastation, they stood strong together and began rebuilding. Just as they were getting back on their feet, Junebug fell ill, and now Nanette faces yet another storm — this time without him.
We are asking loved ones, friends, and anyone touched by their story to consider helping in this time of need. Any contribution — no matter the amount — will go directly toward helping Nanette manage:
- Funeral and medical expenses
- Basic living costs
- The long and painful journey of rebuilding her life without Junebug
If you’re unable to donate at this time, please share this page to help us reach others who may be able to help.
Let’s come together to honor Junebug’s memory by lifting up the woman he loved so deeply. Nanette has endured so much loss in such a short time — with our help, she won’t have to face this next chapter alone.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
