I'm starting this fundraiser to help cover the costs after losing my mom, Julie Ramirez. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this at 25. My mom was my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the first person I went to for everything. She always put herself last just to make sure I was okay, no matter what she was going through. She loved me unconditionally, and I’ll spend the rest of my life grateful for every sacrifice she made for me. She was such a bright light and had a way of making every room she walked into brighter. If you knew my mom, you know how special she was and how many lives she touched. As I’m trying to process this unimaginable loss, I’m also facing the unexpected expenses and responsibilities that come with it. As her only child and next of kin, I’m responsible for making all of the difficult decisions and handling everything that comes with laying her to rest. Having to make so many important decisions while still trying to process losing my mom makes grieving even harder. I’m doing my best to honor her wishes and make sure she receives the farewell she deserves. My mom wanted to be laid to rest in East Nicolaus, California, and I’m doing everything I can to make sure her final wishes are honored. The funds raised will help cover the costs of transporting her from Nevada back to California, her funeral and memorial services, obtaining death certificates, travel expenses as I make multiple trips home, and the many other arrangements that come with saying goodbye to someone you love.
