I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Leslie Russo, the wife of Joshua Russo - a beloved husband, community leader, and the heart behind the Waterman's Alliance and the Caspar Cove Project.

Josh was the kind of person who showed up - for the ocean, for his friends, and for anyone who needed a hand. His generosity, grit, and deep love for the natural world inspired a growing community of divers, volunteers, and ocean advocates along the Northern California coast. Through his leadership, people didn’t just talk about change - they became part of it.

His passing has left an immeasurable hole in the hearts of so many, especially Leslie, who now faces not only profound grief, but also unexpected financial burdens.

We are hoping to come together as a community - the same way Josh brought all of us together - to support Leslie during this incredibly difficult time.

This fundraiser will help cover Josh’s medical bills and the costs associated with honoring his life through a meaningful celebration - one that reflects the impact he had on so many of us.

Josh gave so much of himself to this world. Now it’s our turn to give back.
