Honoring Joseph Parr: Help Us Remember

In Loving Memory of Joseph Parr

On February 22, 2025, our beloved Joseph "Joey" Parr passed away due to heart complications just before his 44th birthday. He leaves behind his adopted son, Israel; his sister, Carrina; and his parents, Judy Norman and Jeff Parr.

Joey was the life of the party. His presence could light up any room, and his infectious laughter could shake the foundation of even the strongest buildings. He always had a '90s quote, a song lyric, or a witty remark ready, and he was never without a hug for anyone who needed it. Joey made every situation better, and when you were feeling down, he was always there to talk to. He had an innate ability to make you feel truly seen.

Joey was incredibly supportive of others, but above all, he was the proudest of his younger sister, Carrina. He genuinely loved everyone and always saw the best in people. He was the brightest light and the biggest smile in our family, and his sister's greatest cheerleader.

One of Carrina’s favorite memories is from when she was around four years old—dancing to "Video Killed the Radio Star" in Joey's room. Singing was a huge part of Joey's life from a young age.

In his 20s and 30s, Joey was an avid golfer. He worked as a bartender at Gold Mountain Golf Club during the summer just to stay close to the game. With his easygoing smile and quick wit, the job was a perfect fit for him. Joey loved to entertain and make others smile.

Growing up in a house full of music, Joey loved to sing and dance while his mother accompanied him on the piano and keyboard. One of his greatest joys was karaoke, especially with his friends and family. He also played in a band, the Outliar’s Club, at local events and bars. Joey loved performing and making memories with us.

After a health scare last year, Joey became serious about his health. He started exercising, visiting doctors, and stopped drinking. His family rallied around him in support. Last Thanksgiving, several of the family participated in the Turkey Trot together and went on scenic hikes like the High Steel Bridge. At the time of his passing, Joey was in one of the happiest and most fulfilling times of his life, surrounded by the love of so many. We wish we could have had more time to share these moments with him.

The funds we’re requesting will help cover the cost of his cremation, memorial service, and ensure that his beloved kitty, Leon, receives any necessary medical care before being placed with a family friend. Any additional funds raised will be donated to the American Heart Association in Joey’s name, honoring the cause that affected him.

Thank you for your support during this difficult time.
