Hello friends, family, and loved ones,

On Christmas morning, 2025, my father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Losing him has sent shockwaves through the ground we walk on. The confusion, fear, and grief have been overwhelming, especially with this loss happening so close to the holidays and just before my birthday.

The man I want to tell you about may not be the same man everyone remembers, but to us, he was our rock and a massive pillar in our daily lives.

My father’s name is Joseph Michael Frey. He was born on July 26, 1979, in a small town filled with smog and memories around every corner. Joe was fiercely loyal, with strong morals that he drilled into his children. He taught us what it meant to be strong and brave, and how to love even through anger and fear. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, always a friend when you needed one most. A shoulder to cry on, and always a cigarette away from a smile.

He leaves behind his wife of 18 years, his best friend and partner in crime, as well as his children, whom he loved and protected fiercely. Our provider, our protector, and our rock are gone, and every piece of us is shaking as we try to figure out what comes next.

I ask everyone who loved him, and anyone who is able, to please keep our family in your thoughts during this time. Please help us give my dad the memorial services he asked for, and help our family survive the massive hole left in our home and hearts as we learn how to live in the months ahead without him.
