Honoring Josefina Morado

Donation protected

Since 2013, our beloved Josefina has been a resident of a skilled nursing facility. She has suffered many years with both diabetes and pulmonary vascular disease and most recently chronic kidney disease. Her health has been overall maintained while dementia has slowly progressed. On November 26, 2018, she was rushed to the ER with a fatally low blood sugar. Over the course of her admission, she very slowly reached and maintained a stable condition physically but declined drastically mentally and dementia is now in an advanced stage. This advanced stage has been presented to the family along with her physical state as hospice recommended.

After much consideration, it is our family’s decision to enroll her into hospice care and no longer request “full code” measures so that she is not put under any undue or unnecessary procedures. As of today, January 3, 2019, she has returned to the hospital with low blood pressure and we are awaiting more or at least a clearer prognosis for now.

We we have started this GoFundMe to raise finances to go toward the funeral expenses that are foreseeable when God calls her Home. Josefina has always been a woman who prepared for the future but unfortunately her prepaid funeral expenses only covered a burial plot and one funeral which was used to lay her husband to rest in 2017. She is a woman who has been the nurturing mother not just to her own 2 sons but many nieces and nephews, the grandmother or “Ita” who loves without limits and a caretaker of many, many children over the years at the Marillac Social Center at Our Lady of Lourdes in West Dallas. We ask for the support of anyone and everyone who has had the privilege of having this beautiful woman in their life and honor her with the homegoing she deserves. Thank you in advance for all donations and/or prayers, it’s more appreciated than we could ever express. On behalf of the Morado Family, thank you and God bless!
