My father, Jose Ramos, has endured unimaginable loss throughout his life. He lost his oldest son in 1990, then two years ago, my other older brother passed away. Most recently, in January, my baby brother Danny passed away. The day after Danny’s celebration of life, my father was surrounded by family and friends, and for a moment, he was in great spirits. Tragically, he passed away in his sleep the very next day.

As the last member of my family, I have done my best to honor my brothers by covering their celebration of life costs and taking care of everything that needed to be done. Now, I am facing the challenge of giving my father the proper sendoff he deserves, especially as a military veteran who served his country with pride. I am still short of covering all the expenses needed to lay him to rest with dignity and respect.
