Our Story

Our family is heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son, Jose Poole.

Jose was a kind, loving, and faithful young man who loved the Lord and cared deeply for others. He worked two jobs and was known in his community for always helping those around him, especially children and the elderly. Jose was the type of person who stepped in when someone needed help.

Jose also had a deep love for his 14-year-old brother who has special needs. He cared for him greatly and always looked out for him. Jose’s loss has left a huge hole in our family, and his father has now lost one of his sons and is left with only one.

Jose was in Kansas City, Missouri, taking care of his biological mother, who is currently very sick, when this tragedy happened.

While there, Jose heard a disturbance outside involving a man behaving violently toward a pregnant woman. Knowing that children and elderly people lived nearby, Jose stepped outside simply trying to calm the situation and de-escalate the conflict.

Our family is now facing unimaginable grief. We must travel to Missouri and take time away from our business to handle everything surrounding this tragedy while also seeking therapy and emotional support as we try to cope with this traumatic loss.

Tragically, instead of the situation calming down, the man turned his anger toward Jose and shot him multiple times, taking the life of a young man who was only trying to protect others and bring peace.
