Estamos profundamente consternados por el trágico y repentino fallecimiento de Jonson Temaj, un joven de 15 años, estudiante de New Rochelle High School, quien fue encontrado sin vida en circunstancias sospechosas el 8 de febrero. Su partida ha dejado devastados a su familia y a toda nuestra comunidad. En este momento de dolor, nos unimos para brindar apoyo a sus seres queridos y ayudar a traerlo de regreso a casa.

Jonson llegó a Estados Unidos desde Guatemala en busca de un futuro mejor. Era un joven brillante y bondadoso, lleno de sueños y esperanzas, pero su vida fue arrebatada demasiado pronto. Su familia desea con todo el corazón enviar sus restos de regreso a Guatemala para que pueda descansar en paz en su tierra natal.

Nos reunimos semanalmente en las parroquias de San Gabriel & San José, Holy Family y Holy Name, así como en el Catholic Club de New Rochelle High School.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic and unexpected passing of Jonson Temaj, a 15-year-old student at New Rochelle High School, who was found under suspicious circumstances on February 8th. His passing has left his family and our entire community heartbroken, and we are coming together to support his loved ones during this devastating time.

Jonson came to the United States from Guatemala in search of a better future. He was a bright and kind young man, full of dreams, and his life was taken far too soon. His family’s greatest wish is to send Jonson’s remains back to Guatemala so he can rest in peace in his homeland.

How Your Donation Will Help

This GoFundMe is being organized by RELIG, the Catholic Youth Community of New Rochelle, where we work with young people to provide support, faith, and community guidance. We meet weekly at St. Gabriel & St. Joseph, Holy Family, and Holy Name churches, and the Catholic Club at New Rochelle HS. Many of us personally knew Jonson and his family, and we are ensuring that 100% of the funds raised go directly to his repatriation and his family’s needs.

All donations will go toward:

• Transporting Jonson’s remains to Guatemala

• Funeral and burial costs for his family

• Legal & family support expenses

Jonson’s uncle, Mynor Temaj, who was caring for him here in New Rochelle, has been in direct communication with us. While the family has received donations through Zelle and bank deposits, many people have asked for a GoFundMe option to make donating easier, especially since this case has now reached statewide and national news. The funds from this GoFundMe will be transferred directly to the bank account of his uncle here in New Rochelle, who will manage the money for the family.
