My brother John passed away early this morning after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and numerous other chronic medical conditions. In recent months, he had been unable to care for himself and was voluntarily living in a nursing home.
John was scheduled for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery next Wednesday, and we were hoping that this would bring him significant relief of his symptoms and possibly even allow him to return to a more independent life. Now, sadly, that won't happen for him.
John did not have life insurance and he had no savings. We are asking for any help with his cremation and burial expenses. Anything will be appreciated. Although we don't have details yet, we will have a small service at his place of worship. I will update you with information about his memorial service and burial once they are arranged.
Prayers and thoughts are much appreciated, and thank you for whatever you can do as a final gift to John. Any unused funds will be donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
