Honoring Johnny Loretta Jackson: Help Bring Her Home

Donation protected
Our beloved sister and aunt, Johnny Loretta Jackson, was fatally injured in a car accident in the early morning hours of April 22nd and passed away the next night, April 23rd, at the young age of 49.

Johnny held a Bachelor's degree in music education from Elon College. She was an accomplished orchestra instructor for Cumberland County Schools and was honored to be named Teacher of the Year during her time at Spring Lake Middle School. Johnny was also part of the Governor's Committee on Music Education. During this time, she was diagnosed with a rare form of Parkinson's and decided to leave teaching to pursue a higher calling and enrolled in the Divinity School at Campbell University, where she obtained a Master of Divinity degree.

Johnny was able to minister at churches and homeless shelters and traveled to our southern border to minister to immigrants fleeing violence in their own countries. She tried to fulfill the gospel the best she could. She was also working on her bucket list. During her time at CU, she had the opportunity to travel to Israel and Greece on archaeological expeditions to religious sites, fueling her love for travel and exploration, as she had traveled through Europe when she was younger and had always wanted to see more of the world. She was baptized in the Jordan River, a dream come true for her.

Johnny also had the opportunity to fulfill another dream, conducting an orchestra at Carnegie Hall. She was so excited to be able to do that because music was still near and dear to her heart. At the time of her accident, she was planning another trip with CU to Turkey to visit seven churches there. She was so looking forward to it.

Beyond her passion for music and ministry, Johnny was a devoted animal lover who rescued four dogs that became her 'babies.' Her compassion extended to all living beings, and her rescued pets brought her immense joy.

Sadly, her life was cut short, and without life insurance, her sudden passing has left her family with significant financial burdens. We are seeking support to cover her final arrangements, including a viewing for friends and family in North Carolina and transporting her to our family cemetery in Tennessee. Her unique personality and the stories shared by friends and family highlight the joy she brought into our lives. She loved her family and her friends with all her heart, and she never said no when she saw someone in need. We hope to honor her memory by ensuring she receives the farewell she deserves. Your support will help us celebrate her life and legacy in a meaningful way.
