John F. Poppa Sr., age 69, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Denise Rotonto Poppa, passed away peacefully at home with his pup in his arms and family by his side on September 6, 2026. John was born in Bridgeport on May 12, 1957, to the late Fred and Frances (Mikulka) Poppa and has been a lifelong area resident. He retired from the RBC Heim Company after over 45 years of dedicated service.

John was a loving father, devoted family man, and recognized by friends, family, and neighbors as a true pillar of the community. He was happiest outside- tinkering, tag saling, or sitting by the fire. Aside from his dogs, his absolute greatest joy was his grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, include his devoted children, John Poppa Jr. and his wife Melissa, Tiffany Poppa, Christopher Poppa, and Denise Poppa, three cherished grandchildren, Winter, Nala, and Jordan, and his faithful canine companion, Lena. He was pre-deceased by his eternal soulmate, his puppy dog, Oreo.

Visitation on Monday September 14, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with a prayer at 5:45 p.m.
