Josefita “Joeie” Gurule-Blanco is a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all—an absolute powerhouse of strength and love. She has always been the heart of our family, known for her resilience and independence, her love of dancing, getting her nails done, “chit-chatting” with everyone, and her passion for reading. Even after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome in 2021 and needing a wheelchair, Joeie continued to live her life to the fullest, inspiring everyone around her with her determination, positivity, and warmth.
After a long and courageous fight, Joeie is now on comfort care following life support, and our family is preparing for her passing. She has spent the last few weeks in the hospital, and the emotional toll has been matched by growing financial responsibility. We are raising funds to help cover the medical expenses from her hospital stays and to provide her with the respectful farewell she deserves. These funds will go directly to her grandson, Santiago Gonzalez, who has been her primary caregiver, and her husband, Jose Blanco, who have both been by her side every step of the way.
