In Support of Cassie and Their Beautiful Family of 7.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating loss of Joseph Medina, lovingly known to so many as “Big Joe / Joe”the heart and soul behind the beloved taco truck, The Birria Boyz.

Joe was only 32 years young, born on October 27, 1992, with his whole life ahead of him. He was a man full of life, laughter, and love known for his big smile, contagious energy, and golden heart. He was sarcastic and funny, but also deeply kind, generous, and hardworking.

Joe was a loving partner to Cassie Jennings, his best friend and soulmate. Together, they were inseparable raising their family and running their business side by side. He was a dedicated and proud father to his two daughters, Malia and Aleya, and a caring bonus dad to Franco Jr., Joe, and Adrian. He loved all five kids fiercely and unconditionally.

Joe was the founder and mastermind behind The Birria Boyz, a business built from his passion for food, family, and community. His tacos were famous, but even more so was the way he treated people making everyone feel like family. Whether you were a customer, friend, or stranger, Joe welcomed you into his circle with open arms.

He was the backbone and provider for his family of seven, working tirelessly to build a future for his kids and Cassie. Joe also had a deep love for cars, cooking, laughter, and making memories. He touched so many lives and leaves behind a huge community of friends, fans, and loved ones all mourning the loss of such an incredible man.

He leaves behind his loving siblings: Gabe, Lexi, Marizah, and Elias, and his parents Cynthia Loza and Jose Medina.

With the blessing of my sister Cassie, we are starting this GoFundMe to help support Joe’s five children and Cassie during this unimaginable time. Funds will go directly toward funeral expenses, immediate financial needs, and helping them navigate this painful and uncertain chapter ahead.
