Hello, my name is Shawnell Starner, and with permission from the family, I am creating this GoFundMe to help the family with the cost of funeral services and a little extra so they can get an urn and ash holders.

My beautiful friend Jamie and her sister are preparing to lay their momma Jody to rest. Jody was like a second mom to me, and a beautiful soul all around. She leaves behind 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. The family has been through a lot this year, already laying an aunt to rest and 3 of the grandchildren's other grandmother to rest just a few short months ago.

Jody, at 64 years old, went into the hospital on Christmas. As seen in the picture, although struggling to breathe due to her COPD, she appeared to be okay. However, things took a turn for the worse, and by that Sunday, they had to make the tough decision to take her off the breathing tube and bypass machine. She's a fighter for sure, but the doctors say at any moment she can go as she is in respiratory failure. It's a waiting game, and the family could use all the love and support at this time.
