Honoring Joaquin’s Passion and Memory

On February 23rd, our son Joaquin was killed in a motorcycle accident. Joaquin made friends wherever he went. On the first day of kindergarten, we picked him up and as we walked across the school grounds, every child we passed from K-8 yelled out to Joaquin. His dad and I looked at each other and thought, did he meet the entire school and they all remembered his name? Our home quickly became the house where all the boys hung out. Weekend sleepovers, our home was full and so were our hearts. Scott, Alex, and others became like sons to us. He loved his family and valued his friends. And as his wife Cy stated, he earned the nickname Joaqapedia. He was so knowledgeable about many different subjects but especially reptiles. This was his passion and he dedicated his life to the care of them. Our hearts are broken and will not be mended until we see you again, son... our baby boy, we love you and are so proud of you. You were so happy and excited to move forward and make your dreams come true. Forever smiling. Life will never be the same. I can't stop speaking your name. I find myself calling out your name. Screaming your name in my grief.
JOAQUINNNN.... this cannot be happening...
I would like to thank you all for loving our baby boy.

There will be a follow-up post with information regarding a celebration of life ✨️ and light of our beautiful son
