It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joaquin Solorio Jr., a devoted son, a loving brother and uncle, and a proud father to his two daughters. He was strong, but even more than that, he was kind. He carried himself with humility and generosity, and he had a way of making people feel truly seen and appreciated.
His work as a U.S. Forestry firefighter with the Texas Canyon Hotshots and also being an EMT wasn’t just a job — it was who he was. He chose to serve. He chose to protect. He was willing to step into danger and, if it came to it, give everything for the people he loved and the community he served. His courage and generosity will never be forgotten, and neither will the laughter and memories he gave so freely.
He loved being outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains. He enjoyed cooking for others, sharing meals, and dancing with the people he cared about most. He had an honest, compassionate soul and a natural sense of humor that brought lightness and joy wherever he went. Joaquin was goofy, never afraid to make cringy jokes, and “desmadroso” but always real and unfiltered. He didn’t live for other people’s opinions or try to shape himself to fit anyone else’s expectations. He was unapologetically himself, and that alone was a lasting lesson in staying true to who you are.
Although he is no longer here with us, his presence is felt in the stories we share and the love he leaves behind. We hold on to the life he lived — one rooted in service, family, and heart. There is comfort in believing he is reunited with loved ones who went before him and rests now in God’s care.
Nothing can truly ease the heartbreak of this loss, and no amount of money can take away the pain. If you are able to donate, your support can help relieve some of the funeral expenses and remind Joaquin’s family that they are supported, cared for, and not alone during this difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others. Thank you for your generosity and prayers.
