Honoring Jimmy!
Jimmy, 56, went home to be with the Lord last night after a long and difficult fight with end-stage renal failure, advanced lung disease, and heart complications.
He spent the last four months in the hospital fighting. He faced each day with faith and perseverance. He never complained. He pressed on with the hope of a better day.
Jimmy loved God!!!
If you knew him, you heard him say: “All glory and praise to God.”
He shared his faith, even in the middle of his hardest moments, even with the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
“All glory and praise to God.”
That was his heart.
Jimmy loved his family, his dog Sadie, and his friends. He was funny, ALWAYS teasing someone, we could count on him to make us laugh. He was loyal, steady, and someone you could always count on.
He was a hard worker. No matter what he was dealing with physically, he kept going.
He loved the simple things—driving around Baldwin Park with the windows down, Sadie with him, and his worship music playing. They’d stop at the donut shop, pick up a coffee and a tuna sandwich. That’s how some of us will remember him.
Jimmy lived with his mom! He loved her deeply. In many ways, he fought as long as he did because of that love.
So many people have asked how they can help.
This page is simply a way to do that.
For those who feel led, this is an opportunity to show love during this season in a quiet and meaningful way, reflecting the care and generosity Jim showed to others throughout his life.
There is no expectation—only gratitude for the love, prayers, and support that have already been given.
More than anything, Jim would want this to point back to God.
All glory and praise to Him.
Thank you for LOVING Jimmy, for REMEMBERING him, and for HONORING the life he lived.
“All glory and praise to God.” — Jimmy Rice
