Honoring Jimmy Hemmings’ Memory
My father, Jimmy Hemmings, touched the lives of everyone he met with his humor, kindness, and genuine love for family and friends. He never met a stranger, and those who knew him quickly became part of his extended family. Jimmy was devoted to my mother, Jackie, and was an incredible father to me and my sister, Danielle. His warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on all of us.
Jimmy dedicated over 30 years of his life working for the City of Newnan at Oak Hill Cemetery. He took great pride in his work and cherished the relationships he built with his colleagues and the community. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and his selflessness was felt by many.
My father, Jimmy, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2025, due to septic shock.
In the span of less than 24 hours, his condition worsened rapidly. He was placed on multiple forms of life support, but despite the doctors' best efforts, his body was not responding to treatment. Our family was faced with the heartbreaking decision to let him pass peacefully.
This sudden loss has left us not only grieving, but also struggling to cover the unexpected costs of a funeral. We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help ease the financial burden of funeral and memorial costs. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference for our family as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page with others. Any support will help us honor his memory and give him the farewell he deserves. Thank you for your compassion and support during this difficult time.
