Honoring Jill Kelly's Life and Love

Hello, my name is Richard Shadid and I am currently mourning the loss of my wife of 18 years, Jill Kelly. Jill's life came to a premature end on April 25th. We have been together since we met 18 years ago. Jill was my best friend, the love of my life, the mother of my children, and truly my partner in all aspects of life. Jill is going to be missed by so many people and I can't fathom leaving her in the county morgue due to the lack of funding. I'm hoping doing this GoFundMe can make it possible to get her taken care of.

Jill has had a lot of medical issues starting with her being hit by a car on Lake Shore Drive roughly 6 months ago. After fighting to get herself healthy again, she started getting some side effects of the accident, the main one was her femoral artery was knicked and she would start hemorrhaging with the smallest of pressure, such as coughing or sneezing. Two weeks ago I had to go to the hospital and she was home alone and she must have had a cough or sneezing attack which caused her to hemorrhage from her femoral artery and since she was home alone she bled out and passed away the day before I was discharged from the hospital. I was not able to say goodbye and I can't afford to have a memorial service but I'm trying to make sure she doesn't get lost in the Cook County anonymous grave. She deserves much more, but I am using the funds to get her cremated. This way she can be with her loved ones and not just forgotten about.
