Jessica Schoffel (October 8, 1981 - July 17, 2026) of Acton, MA grew up in Trumansburg, graduated from Charles O. Dickerson High School in 1999 and was a beloved elementary school teacher in Littleton, MA. As a kindergarten student, she joined her parents, Linda and Rob, in the original Trumansburg Community Playground build.

In memory of Jessica, we will donate buddy bench(s) to the Trumansburg Playground. A buddy bench is designed to help kids combat isolation and bullying, encourages students to practice empathy and to invite their peers to join in play, goals which were always a priority in Jessica's classroom. We will also donate children's books about the concept of buddy benches for teachers to use in their classrooms.
